Brandon and Neil's Wedding Weekend
September 16th - 18th, 2022
Brandon Francis Grimes and Neil Martin Redfield met in April of 2017, and since then their love for each has grown together like two trees, each filling the space between the other's branches. Having survived both three years of long distance due to graduate school and a year and a half of extreme proximity due to the pandemic, they are excited to make this commitment to each other surrounded by the community of those closest to them. They hope you are able to join.

Details and RSVP below
THE CAMP
Timber Lake Camp is a beautiful, spacious summer camp nestled in Shandaken, NY in the Catskills. It offers over 500 acres of private land which will be exclusively reserved for our party for the duration of the weekend. We think this will be a fantastic location to have those closest to us gather and revel over the course of a weekend which celebrates love and community.
The camp has many offerings including gorgeous outdoor spaces, spacious common areas which will be central gathering points throughout the weekend, a stage, a movie theater, private hiking trails, and even an extesive fitness center (though we anticipate that may go unused!). Lodgings are mostly communal, and every meal over the course of the weekend is provided, with dietary options available (see the "Book Your Stay" section for all financial and lodging information).
A few important things to note:
-
There is no cell phone reception on the camp grounds (or, very limited). We are looking forward to going off the grid for a few days. Remember when that used to happen regularly?
-
However, there is reliable Wi-fi at select locations on camp. We have confirmed that it is strong enough to support Zoom, in case you need to do a bit of remote work or keep up with email over the weekend.
-
There is no ATM on campus, though you should have no need for cash once you’re on site.
We have much more information about the weekend below, so scroll down and check it out. We can’t wait to have you join us for this special weekend that we will remember for the rest of our lives!

WHAT TO BRING
-
Suggested ceremony attire is "outdoor formal." The wedding itself will be outside on grass, so keep that in mind when considering footwear. We hope you'll wear something that makes you feel as special as this day will feel to us.
-
Layering will be a good idea; we expect it to be warm enough in September, but you never know.
-
Be sure to pack clothes for outdoor activities!
-
We will have sunscreen and bug spray available, but you are welcome to bring your own.
-
Linens will be provided (towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows), but you are welcome to bring your own.
-
Want to perform something in Friday night’s cabaret? Bring whatever sheet music/attire/circus gear you want! (Acts do not need to be perfect, just heartfelt. Writing something is encouraged!)
RSVP AND BOOK YOUR STAY
Lodging for the weekend costs a total of $350 per person (or $150 for children 5-12 ; no cost for children 4 and under). This cost is all-inclusive! Food, housing, and drinks for the whole weekend. Basically, you just need to get to the camp; everything else will be taken care of.
The venue accepts booking fees as a lump sum, so payment will go through us and can be sent via Venmo, Paypal, or mailed check. Instructions for making payments are in the RSVP Form linked below.
You’ll have an opportunity to specify with whom you would like to be housed, if you have a preference. We are excited, however, to match people who we think would work well together, so we’ll make sure you have a thoughtful placement regardless. At this point, we anticipate that most shared cabins will only have 4-6 guests each. Each cabin has its own bathroom.
There are a select few individual cabins available, so let us know if you feel you require one and we will try to fit everyone in.
Here is also where you’ll be able to specify any dietary restrictions for the camp to accommodate.
We ask that you RSVP by August 1st.
DIRECTIONS
The most direct way to get to Timber Lake Camp from NYC is to drive. We have a Carpool Connection Google doc if you are coming in from NYC and have extra room in a car, or would like to share a ride up on Friday afternoon. We will also try to personally match people who are looking for transport.
Alternatively, there is a bus that leaves from Port Authority and arrives 10 minutes away from the camp (Allaben). The Trailways bus currently departs Port Authority Bus Terminal (P.A.B.T.) at 12:30pm (arriving 3:34pm) and at 3:30pm (arriving 6:34pm) on Friday. For returning on Sunday, buses depart Allaben at 11:00am (arriving in NYC 2:40pm) and 1:53pm (arrive in NYC 5:30pm). There may also be more options; we encourage you to check out their website! (Note that Trailways will only book a month in advance.)
For those flying in, nearby airports include Albany (ALB), Hartford (BLD), and White Plains (HPN). However, so far it seems the cheapest option may still be to fly into an NYC airport and rent a car or take the bus from there.

REGISTRY
The greatest gift we could receive is your presence and contribution to this wonderful weekend. If you would like to make an additional gift, in lieu of a traditional registry we have three funds to support our future together to which we would happily take contributions:
If you are unable to attend and would like to contribute in another way, we ask that you consider donating towards the cost of someone else’s lodging fee for the weekend. If you are interested in doing so, please contact Brandon and Neil directly (you will also be able to indicate this on your RSVP form).
